Well done Paul. I can only imagine how grueling the ride can be but the rewards are far more than monetary ..... as if I have to tell you!

I sit here with tears, reading all of these shared stories of cancer experiences.

My Dad fought prostate cancer in December 2009, and won the battle. In October 2010 he was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. Two weeks later we found out he also had terminal (secondary) brain cancer. After a brief and nasty fight, he died on 15 February 2011, aged 70. The memories are so raw and painful.

Cancer is just so awful. I am so glad that he had 70 good years, because I know a lovely 33 year old lady, who is battling terminal stomach and liver cancer. That's so cruel.

My Pop died from pancreatic cancer, and my uncle also died last year from esophageal cancer.

I remember when I first met you, and then Peta, out on the bike. I listened to your story of your intention to ride the 2010 tour with admiration. I would love to do the ride. It would be SO amazing. Just not certain that I could do it!

Thanks to every one of you on the Tour - you are all amazing.

Paul,

I lost my best friend to cancer late last year after an 8 year, on again, off again battle. He was just 45 years young with a wonderful wife and 2 x young children, all of whom adored him.

No-one lived a cleaner, more positive life than my friend. He was a lifetime non-smoker, non-drinker, healthy eater and regular exerciser.

Cancer doesn't discriminate who it decides to invade. Any one of us, young or old, could be its next host.

All the more reason the world needs people like YOU mate...... people who are prepared to take up the fight to draw attention to this life taker.... and give those wonderful researchers, scientists and doctors the power to continue their work to find a cure. Not too long ago in the history of the world Small Pox was a death sentence.. today it has been eradicated from the planet.

Cancer too will one day be eradicated from this planet, but not without the serious efforts, of some seriously committed people to find a cure.

I hope my small donation today lifts your spirits and those of others who read these words to dig deep and help the ride towards a Cure.

Hey Boss - You continue to amaze me with your will to succeed, and what you are willing to do to find a cure for this incideous disease. Darryl and I wish you every success in your journey this time and hope that many many people support you with their donations. I only wish I had your strength of conviction to be able to do something like this. I know how hard you train and how much time you take from your family to do it and that just makes me admire you even more. You are a truly remarkable man Paul Egan and may you have the best of life's blessings come your way. You are much loved and appreciated by many more people than you know. May you ride on the wings of angels during this journey and let us all pray that we find a cure - and soon. My battle continues still but with people like you around, how could I ever give up the fight. Your strength gives me courage, Much love and the very best of wishes to you and all the riders. Kath
