Training in full swing

Getting ready for the Tour de Cure ride takes a lot of time and effort. Doing some great training for this event is a big commitment.

Not only do we need to be able to ride up to 200 km in a day and climb huge hills we also need to be able to back up day after day after day to get there.

This weekend was an example of doing the hard yards to make sure that I am fit to get to the end in good shape.

On Saturday we rode from Bulimba to towards the Gold Coast and then back, a total of 137km. Riding that far in a day is good training but its hard work if you havnt done it for a while.

On Sunday we rode up to Mt Tamborine. Thats about 100km but getting up the hill at this time of the year is a slog. Not only is it nearly 100% humidity at the moment but I still have 91 kg around my middle at the moment!! The goal is to get down to around 82 kg so a bit of work to do there. Needless to say towards the end of this ride I was about stuffed. I was happy to get home and jump in the pool !!
