10 weeks to go!

I am lucky enough to again be involved in the Tour De Cure Signature Tour in 2016, which is also the 10th Anniversary ride. This year the team will be riding from Brisbane to Sydney, taking in Grafton, Armidale and the majestic coast line from Coffs Harbour.

Unfortunately again this year I have a special reason to be riding. My colleague Peter Underwood was diagnosed with bowel and liver cancer at Christmas time and is currently undergoing treatment.

Thankfully TDC fundraising has now been responsible for 18 cancer breakthroughs, so we are making a difference. Every dollar counts.

My training is starting to ramp up after having had a mixed early summer. Previously I have been able to get a lot of work done in December and January, however this year things didn’t go to plan over these months so I’m starting from a lower base. With a little under 10 weeks to go there should be plenty of time to get into the right shape for tour.

Fundraising has started later also, but some good momentum started to appear last week and we are well on our way.

I’ll keep you updated over the coming weeks of progress and share some photos of all the fun. This week I have a trainer session as part of the University of Sydney Union’s O-Week festival in what is forecast to be a warm 32 degrees. Somewhere between 6 and 7 hours should create some significant puddles of sweat.

So spread the word, it’s fundraising time, I appreciate ever dollar raised.

Thanks

Andrew
