Signature Tour Day 3

Meningie to Robe

189km, 356m elevation, 6hr 47min ride time

Well thank goodness the weather fairy was much kinder to us today, but we were still hit with some pretty nasty winds and cold.

So today team Lexus (my team), rode with Sunrise and Vittoria.  We name the teams based on the big corporate sponsors.  I was very humbled that I was asked to be the captain of team Lexus.  That must mean they think I am a good leader, or something like that!!  Having the Sunrise team means we had Beretts with us, which means that the Sunrise camera crew follows us.  This also sometimes means re doing stuff to ensure that it has been a good take!!

Today’s road were long and dead flat.  At times the roads were very rough.  This equates to a very sore ass, and very tight and sore shoulders.  We rode through the Murray River salt flats which has rather interesting terrain.  190km is a long way, but we divide it up into more manageable 40 to 50 kilometre sections where you stop for morning/afternoon tea, lunch, etc.  I got to know even more people on Tour today whilst riding with these different teams.  It is hard to get around to everybody as there are many newbies on Tour, and there are around 60 more than normal.

my eyes are burning from the constant wind over the past three days so I am going to go and close them.  Sweet dreams all.  See you on day 4 – very early as our team’s chore is Sunrise which means 5.20am (when all the others get a late 6.20 start).
