…..and so it begins
Late last year I became involved in Tour de Cure through the company I work for (Optus). We are proud corporate partners of the charity and I am an avid cyclist, so my some initial enquiries which quickly snowballed to a seat on the QLD Country Tour Guest rider in August 2013.
It was here that I was inducted into the fantastic message and purpose the Tour provides and the difference it makes for those with Cancer as well as carefully targeting where the money goes to find that cure.
So now a few months down the track I am super excited to be riding on the 2014 Signature Tour which will run from Sydney to Hobart – some 1576kms and 25,000m vertical ascent. Better still we will be visiting many schools and communities as we raise awareness and funds for Cancer.
I will continue training hard, but at the same time will be heavily focused on raising money. The fundraising is very new to me and I appreciate any and all support I receive to get to the goal of $15k (and hopefully beyond)
