Tour de Cure 2014 – Sydney to Hobart over 10 days – leaving Friday 28th March at 8 am

Hi to my TDC supporters past, present & potential,

Firstly, a sincere thank you for your support on my fundraising which is the primary goal of our Tour de Cure ride.  This enables us to fund the school and community engagements and the larger donations to research programs on disease states that Corporates and Government are often not supporting – yes do think about a donation as its a worthy cause.

Your support has helped me pass my personal fundraising goal and I can now concentrate on participating in the community and school activities that will be a focus in our broader education activities over the next 10 days.

As for riding, I feel adequately prepared but know the days ahead will be difficult.  The course will cover 1576 kms over 10 days, climbing over 20,000 metres and with daily ride distances from 120 kms to a long 204 km day from Wangaratta to Eildon – at least the scenery will be pretty.

I will be sharing a few updates along the road, talking to our ride experiences, the educational engagements with schools where dads become temporary heroes and the community evening dinners where we learn about how patients and communities manage their Cancer challenges.

Certainly feeling some nervousness, especially hearing the heavy rain outside, but will be leaving with much positive anticipation.  Again, thanks for supporting my participation.

For those with access to Channel 7, the Sunrise breakfast program will be highlighting our progress during the news linked sports updates with Mark Beretta.

All the best,
