TDC Official 100K Assessment Ride

Set alarm for 4.30am, really REALLY, this is soooo bloody early. I’m meant to eat before the ride but feel nauseous, not sure if this is nerves or the thought of eating this early before I’ve had my 2 cups of tea. Manage to squeeze in 1 cuppa and 1 and a bit crumpets but with a bit of nutella and head off in the dicky dark to centennial park to meet the group.

Get there only to realise I left my glasses at home – Oh no, can you imagine how much dirt and girt that can blow into your eyes on a 100K ride!! Fortunately another rider had a spare pair in his car – SOOO lucky!

So highlights were completing it? Keeping up with the experienced riders on the hills, not stacking it at all. Lowlights were being too slow on take offs and chain falling off.
