Fundraising update

……….so my training is well underway and is something I am well familiar with so I am comfortable with my plan to prepare and the goals I need to set and how to achieve them.

Fundraising is another venture altogether, This is an area I am not familiar with – going out to actively solicit money from potential donators and rally the cooperation of businesses and organise events (fundraisers)

Currently it is a bit disheartening to realise that with only 9 weeks to go, I have raised only 20% or my required funds to participate and then only 15% of my target.  I have sent over 120 emails directly to people and a dozen of so to various businesses seeking funding.  Today I received my first positive response with Da Angelo’s Italian restaurant in Hobart.  They are donating $250 and will provide some pizza and pasta when we arrive in Hobart – many heartfelt thanks Angelo

In addition to this I am organising two BBQ sausage sizzles at Officeworks in the next month.  These are similar to the Bunnings setups, but are more readily available.  Meats will be supplied by Steggles, breads from the local Brumby’s, and cooking duties performed by some willing friends, so thanks for their support also.

I am hoping to gain support from my sons local school also to host an outdoor movie evening on a Friday and sell some movie nibbles.

In addition to all the above I still think I need much bigger $$ generators, but not sure how to approach this.  Some market stalls for donations and shopping centres are another idea?

It would be great to secure a corporate package supporter…………
