After becoming mates with a neighbour, TDC co-founder Geoff Coombes, getting involved with Tour de Cure seemed a perfect way to honour the 20 year anniversary of my mums passing.

This is my fourth year being involved with Tour de Cure and I rode my first full Tour in 2011 from Sydney to Melbourne. I still want to contribute further to this great cause by riding again in 2013. Please help me and the Optus team reach our fund raising goals for Tour de Cure and help find a cure for cancer

Reasons for doing the ride

My mum passed away  from Lupus, which most often harms the immune and nervous system affecting vital organs. The course of the disease is unpredictable, with periods of illness alternating with remissions. Lupus is treatable and survival rates have increased substantially in the last 20 years but there is still no cure.
