About Lisa

I grew up in New Zealand, with fond memory’s of a farming childhood, even living in Christchurch there was plenty of land around, a pony to ride, tadpoles to catch, sheep to round up, calves to raise & plums to pick.

As children we all had bikes, our mode of transport, firstly to get to school then the preferred form of travel to get to work & keep fit at the same time. A car had it’s place & there was always a bike.

Jump ahead 20 years & I find myself living in Sydney with children & their bikes. As their desire to ride grew so too did my desire to join them & before long we were doing the Wollongong ride.

Next the purchase of a road bike, quite an investment at the time, bright red & with a hint of carbon in a couple of places.

I soon learned how fast I could go & discovered my second biggest fear, cycling downhill.

When I first learned of Tour de Cure I had 2 things in mind. The first was that I knew people impacted by cancer so this related to me & the second was if I was physically up to this I would conquer my down hill fear…..& so my TDC journey began.
