Fundraising goal reached!!!!

What a pleasant report to make – through some simple sums across the board I have realised my fundraising goal has now been achieved   I have around $12,200 across the TdC website, Optus’ own internal donation page and BBQ sales money to be deposited.

This is a great outcome, but it wont stop there, I am still finalising other avenues for funds pledged across various groups.  I expect another $2500 to come from events still being finalised.  I hope to generate around $1500 from the dinner this week.  My $15k goal is so close and I will of course name all those contributing here as the funds roll in.

So all of a sudden things are looking good to reach my goal

Been a real test (pushing the refusals aside) and time hungry, but so glad to have got there.  Owe a lot to my family – especially the wife & kids for tolerating me not being around as much the past months.  At 4 and 6yrs old I already feel I’ve missed some opportunities with the boys, but for the greater good, if it means they have a better future chance of continuing healthy then its all worth it.

Stand-out fundraising achievements and contributors are headed-up by the absolutely outstanding effort my sister in Hobart achieved along with a few of her close friends, and my wonderful parents, organising a Movie night in Hobart.  She sourced prizes for auctions (one of which a Rob Pennicott boat tour worth $250 – when in Hobart look them up – a great day out), arranged catering and drinks and sold enough tickets to the movie to generate over $4000 in funding!!!  By far my best advocate!

I have a great $1000 from an anonymous donator from within Optus,  $500 from a local Lawn mowing business (EcoMow – give them a shot!) and various $250 personal and business donations to really give the fundraising a kick.

These bigger lump sums plus my chocolates, pie drive & BBQ’s coupled with the many, many generous people donating whatever they had has given me the momentum to get to the required funding

On the subject of events I owe Peta Behm in Optus a great lot as she has organised most of the BBQ meats, the dinner invite and guests plus prizes for the dinner.  A family friend Anita Greenwood has also kindly offered up prizes also in the form of vouchers for hairdressing and day spa.  Its amazing what is being offered.  Kate Fraser has also been a big advocate for me – helped on all BBQ’s and found prizes for the dinner also

Thanks to all whom have helped along the way and I hope to update this post and subsequent ones with more accolades to  those joining the cause!
