Fundraiser Dinner wrap-up

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERALast night was my final and largest QLD Fundraiser Event (my sisters movie night in Hobart eclipsed my efforts :)) on my plan.  The Dinner held at Tiramisu in Paddington went swimmingly well, and I have received great reports from attendees for having had a great night and very nice meal.  In all 37 people attended the night

Mario, Rosie and the crew at Tiramisu were more than hospitable for us and helped with organising and coordinating the restaurant for the night.  Great Italian Fare was enjoyed by all and they even catered for dietary requirements for individuals eventhough it was meant to be a fixed menu banquet format.

We ran 2 x Raffles and a few items in a silent auction.  All of which were very popular and resulted in a complete success with all items claimed and sold.

There were some very generous people on the night, some buying multiple raffle tickets and bidding wonderful amounts on the auction items.  I even had a random restaurant customer come up and donate $50 out of the blue.  great stuff!

Thanks to all those who donated products and services to help with the fundraising:

I had some great support from Cory & Stephanie Morris and Jodi Harris coming along in TdC kit, as did the Optus TdC crew of Stefan Faustini, Ray Duncan and John Flynn.  Thanks all – you know what the challenges are and stepped up to the plate

I had a talk at various times during the night and gave some perspective of the Tour’s operation and our expectations during the 10day ride and logistics  we then showed the Sunrise summary from last years’ Tour.

I have not tallied up everything accurately yet, but indications suggest it would be in the order of $2000 in total from the events, donations and dinner.

Other great news that came through during the night was the donation from Salisbury state High from their fundraising performed at their 40yr reunion, the committee very kindly chose to donate a total of $2200 to the TdC cause which was great to receive.

The $15k goal I set is becoming very real and am very grateful for the support I have received from so many up to now – Cheers
