Le Grand Depart
First day of Tour today was filled with excitement.
Woke at 4.15am – about an hour earlier than needed, but it’s understandable considering what we were about to embark upon.
First up breakkie in Adelaide and the Sunrise crosses, and then Australian cycling royalty Anna Meares joined us for the first part of the ride out of Adelaide. I was blown away – to be in the presence and have a chance to ride with one of Australia’s gold medalists from London 2012 was just awesome, and a definite highlight of the day.

The ride was relaxed, all apart for the individual time trial up Wilunga Hill. Gave it a bit of a nudge and was good to open up a bit.
Have finished up at Victor Harbour with lunch, and the community dinner tonight. Tomorrow’s a solid 140km + down to Meningie.
