Happy Australia Day

A rest day today after riding 338 km this week and 1,312 km’s this month on track for a 1,600 km month. The training must be paying off as I am riding stronger each day and if I have a day off I feel guilty for not being out there and training.

The past month I have achieved some milestones riding 130 km’s with 1400 metres in elevation a TDC Assessment Ride for January complete.Mt Mee I rode up Mt Mee solo and not having done this before I wasn’t sure what to expect. I surprised myself and had a lot left in the tank for my next ride up.

Later in the month I did a Saturday group ride with Paul Egan and some Tour de Cure past and present riders. I have also ridden up Mt Coot-tha a couple times and yes hills are my friend, well that is what I have to keep telling myself. Bike on Mt Coot-tha

Earlier this week a friends father passed away after a long battle with Cancer and this disease took away all his dignity. It is for this reason I am riding with Tour de Cure to find a cure and stop the suffering of those with this disease and loved ones who endure the pain of losing someone so close.

As the 60 days to go mark fast approaches the Brisbane based Tour de Cure riders have a group ride planned for the Australia Day holiday and it will be a great time to meet the other riders and learn from their experiences and pick up some riding tips during the ride.
