Hi, I’m Martyn Ellis and I want to ride to cure cancer because I see too many people being affected by this disease that does not discriminate.  Aunt’s, Uncles, Cousins and Friends have all been taken way too early in life while other family and friends are in stages of recovery and treatment.

Tour de Cure for me is a journey and my journey began in 2010 following friend Paul Egan ride in his first Tour de Cure from Sydney to Sunshine Coast. Paul is so dedicated to Tour de Cure he is about ride in his 5th Tour de Cure from Sydney to Hobart.

I decided to step it up a gear and join this fantastic cause I have been supporting for the past 4 years. I applied for a Full Tour Rider position in September 2013 and whilst missing out on a position due to record numbers applying this did not stop my willingness to join as a Guest Rider riding from Sydney to Canberra on Days 1 and 2 of the Tour.

After riding as a Guest Rider from Sydney to Canberra I decided to apply again for a Full Tour Rider position for the 2015 Signature Tour.

I am lucky enough to have a healthy family, so for me this is a little thing I can do to support those that have to suffer more than I have, in the hope we can either cure this disease or make the lives of other sufferers and their families a little easier.
