Day 2: Victor Harbor to Meningie

A day of contrasts as we battled strong side winds for the first 50kms and had to taste dust as the wind swirled around. Then after morning tea we made the long awaited turn away from the wind and cruised along at up to 45km/hr with the wind behind us. Great scenery, undulating roads and a strong tail wind – riding doesn’t get much better! Stopped for another great lunch conjured from a truck in the middle of nowhere and then we rode the last 50km to the finish. Meningie is a tiny rural community that have totally embraced TDC and the fight against cancer … had a great evening during which we presented a cheque for $5k to their tiny local hospital. Special communities and nights like this help to make being on Tour such a special experience. Locals still dancing away whilst we’ve had to head off to grab some sleep. Covered 140kms today … another 180 to be ticked off tomorrow! Thanks for all the messages of support!
