A couple of 200km days – and fantastic school visits
Travelling from Horsham to Bendigo, and Bendigo to Benalla – two 200km days back to back, with 3 schools visited each day. And from Benalla we rode up to Albury through Wangaratta and Rutherglen.
The tour riders are split into 2 or 3 peletons of 20-30 riders to keep safety on the narrow country roads, and and also to enable faster stops for food and coffee. The schools we visited all along the way had prepared posters, and sometimes donations for the TDC fundraising.
A couple of the photos show the sheer enthusiasm and reception we received.
We are up at 4.45 or 5 each morning, cover the Sunrise filming until 8 (while having brekky) and then on the road for the first 50kms until morning break. The amount of food we eat is just amazing – every spare moment seems to be taken up by food. 3 cooked meals a day, + huge amounts of fruit, bars etc.
