Back in Sydney. Thanks to all

We drove back to Sydney on Sunday evening after the dinner as kids had to be at school and Uni on Monday.  I just slept in the back seat and Angela did the hard yards of staying awake for the 3hr drive.

Every aspect of the tour has been so positive.  The communities we visited, the cancer patients we chatted to at Camp Quality, the schools we stopped at to present Be FIt, Be Healthy, Be Happy.  And the TDC organisation is all about a “yes I can approach”, and helping to find a cure.  This permeates everything about the tour, and it is refreshing to be away from the negatives that are so much more common in the media and normal life.  The support crew on Tour typified this approach – cooking, driving, logistics of bags, bikes, filming, medical, mechanical.  You name it.  They were always up at 4am, and often up until 11pm or 12.  Just fantastic, positive commitment.

And thank you so much for your support and donations.  It is part of the positive nature of Tour de Cure, that those that see what we are doing, do want to be a part of it in some way.  Your donations and good wishes are a vital part of TDC working as it does.

After the finish line was crossed, I have still been receiving generous donations, and have achieved my target of $12000 raised.  Overall, TDC has raised over $2.3M this year, and over $10M since it started.  What an achievement!

And woohoo – Monday is a rest day – not a single pedal stroke.  I’m looking forward to upcoming rides to see if my endurance has improved with the 1500km in the legs.

Thanks all.  What an experience.  I hope you enjoyed the updates during tour.  I am looking to ride again next year – I wonder what the route will be?

Rob
