Starting into the hills. Albury to Khancoban

We left Albury after a breakfast and presentation at Albury North Public School. Quite a varied background for the students, including many immigrants from Bhutan, and India, Bangladesh.  The Hume Highway used to run straight past this school, and it’s far quiter and safer now the bypass is in.

A highlight of the morning was a helicopter filming of our peleton (with Mark Beretta at front of course), cruising down and across the Hume Weir, and riding along side it as we started our treck up into the Mountains.  Another lovely stop for lunch at a farm, and you can see in the photo that our Kitchen truck and Coffee van travel with us and feed us supremely well.

Wolfing down muffins, bananas at short break on roadside. Albury-Khancoban.

Farmland on way up to the high country. Luckily we stayed on the bitumen roads

Lunch stop. The Food van and coffee van always were ready to fuel the riders
