Day 3 Canberra to Adiminaby

We woke to a very foggy morning for a big climbing day, 167kms @2300m. Breakfast kicked off at they new Woolworths ‘super’ supermarkets. Great to see such a good turnout of staff & family…on a cold autumn Canberra morning. All was going well until the 70k mark when the rain arrived and temps plummeted to a very cool 12 degree. Remainder of the ride was cold wet as we tackled some if our biggest climbs as we headed to the foothills of the Snowy scenery, The spectacular high country scenery kept our minds off the challenging conditions. At 4.15pm we rolled into our overnight stop at Adiminaby…famous for its big trout.

Being a Sunday we did not attend any schools, but we will be back into spreading our be fit message from tomorrow.

Each day all the teams are assigned various chores, tonight we have laundry…washing & drying 50 pairs of cycling knicks, etc makes for an interesting challenge at the local laundromat.

Our community dinner was held at the local pub,,,,,,who have probably never had 100 dinner guests. As we do each night we presented a $5k cheque to the local hospital to support the treatment of their cancer patients

After 3 days we have now covered 500kms and 4500 of climbing.  Tomorrow we tackle one of our biggest climbing days, so early night is called for.
