Day 3 – Huskisson – Batemans Bay

Route: Huskisson to Batemans Bay Distance: 109km Ascent: 968m The start of day three saw us back down to the Husky pub for Mark Beretta’s Channel 7 Morning show cross and we could tell by the early signs that today was going to be a great ride. Day 2 Wollongong to Huskisson

My legs were pretty good this morning, after all we had only done about 100km yesterday so I didn’t expect that they would be complaining just yet The excitement level was pretty high this morning as we had around 45 guest riders on the stage with us today. Today the ride was again about 100 km …Read more

Day one – Sydney to Wollongong

We woke up pretty early this morning as we needed to get a taxi to the meeting point so that we could have breakfast and make it to Martin Place by 7.00am. That meant that it was a 4.30am rise for most of the guys as we needed to be at breakfast by 5.30am and into Martin Place by 7.00am. When I got downstairs to the lobby of the accommodation …Read more

Fast Saturday Ride

The great thing about cycling is that you get to ride with a wide variety of people. Today’s ride was with the EXTEND TEC group out to do a Redcliffe Loop. The only problem was that a couple of the boys were keen as mustard and the pace was very slick. We ended up doing the first 35km at an average above 35km/h and thankfully the home leg was a …Read more

Tour de Cure training starts

Well it had to start some time as its only about 85 days till we roll out of Sydney on our Journey to Melbourne. This time because of the added difficulty of the hills through Canberra and Thredbo we need to practice lots of hills to get us through. Here is a video of me tackling Mt Cootha which is a local “hill” that overlooks Brisbane City. Its about 65 …Read more
