How lucky am I?

Sometimes it is nice to sit and take stock of what it is you have in your life.  In doing this you can remind yourself of just how damn lucky you are!!

I am grateful for so many things.  I have an amazing family.  I have two great children who I look at now and think – where did the time go?  I remember when I was a very new first time Mum, someone said to me “Enjoy them while they are young because it will shock you how quickly they grow up”.  Very true.  Here I am now with a towering 15 year old young man, and a blond bombshell who looks much older than her 13 years.

My gorgeous kids!

Even though they are challenging at times, they are by far my proudest achievement and the greatest gift to my life.  Then I have this awesome husband who is my soul mate and luckily shares in my passion for cycling (so he gets it!!).  I don’t have a big extended family but love all of them to bits!

I have my health and I am fit.  I hope this continues because we have all seen those that don’t, and it is not a place I want to be in. I live in a great place in the best country in the world.  I have visited many other countries, and I still think we have the best of everything.

I have friends from all walks of life – long time and new, young and old.  They all have something to offer to enrich your life in some way.  Even negatives are positives, if you look at them in the right way!!  I love to talk, and I love to get to know people better.  Tour de Cure has presented me the most amazing bunch of positive and uplifting people, and in under 3 weeks time I get to meet a whole new set of people (and I am just a little bit excited!!).

So onto the usual stats for the week.  I rode 412km with 3,029m elevation.  85km of this was on the wind trainer at the local Woolies doing some fundraising.  I love doing the local thing because I get to talk to people all day!! I have hit the required $12k, and am now sitting around $13.5k.  Still keen to reach at least  $15,000, so keep those donations rolling in!!
