Signature Tour Day 6

Mount Gambier to Warrnambool

213km, 1,022m elevation, 7hrs 3mins ride time

You may be surprised that given the distance that we cycled today, I am going to say it was the easiest ride that we have had thus far on tour!!  The weather was much kinder – only a small patch of rain, a good smattering of sunshine, and much less wind.  This made for an awesome day, and we even averaged 29.9km an hour over that whole distance (the cyclists will get this).  We again passed through some very pretty countryside as well.  It is very green with lots of farming.  We skirted along the coastline through Portland, which was all very nice.

We proudly wore the blue jerseys today, which looked amazing with the whole team in it.

We rode today with team Huawei, with Robbo as the ride leader (which he is very good at).  The peloton worked really well today, and we covered the distance with few incidents.

I have attached a photo of me doing my part for the Lexus school presentation yesterday.  17310008305_bf5c90a2b3_kVisiting the schools and spreading the cancer awareness message is definitely one of the highlights of tour.

Each day I get to know more and more of the newbies on Tour.  When we are cycling we have many hours to chat, and so you get to know people pretty well after a few hours.  I love this part – as we all know I love a chat!!

Time for bed.  It’s been a very long day to have your ass on that very small saddle.  Tomorrow is another big day too, and we are joined by 25 guest riders for the next 2 days.  xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox
