46 Days to Go ….
Another strength and climbing week has just passed, with another this week to back it up. Didn’t quite get the kilometres required under the training program at 372 kilometres, but I was not far off the required climbing at 4,540 metres of elevation.
It’s been a busy weekend as we hosted a 40th birthday at our house on Saturday. Too much fun and frivolity meant I had to do a hill climb late in the day yesterday, which hurt! We also had an incident on the way home where one of our riders ended up in an ambulance with a fractured collarbone.
I rode up the Sunshine Coast with Tour rider David Halliwell and his group. It’s always really nice to discover new riding routes, and this one was so picturesque. I went north so that I could watch Aidan (my son) rowing at Kawana. He will be there every Saturday for the next 6 weeks, so more Sunny Coast rides for me!!
Mt Nebo is a great training climb and close to the CBD so you can easily get in 1,200 metres climbing in a 2 hour ride. Paul Egan beat me up the hill so his return to riding fitness is right on track.
I rode 6 days last week, and today is a rest day. LOVE my rest days and get so excited when one is coming up!! This weekend is a TdC Assessment ride with 180km and 2,000 metres climbing, so that will be a big one.
