Only 4 Weeks to Go

Time is rapidly running out, only 4 weeks until tour begins, a massive 10th Anniversary tour that will retrace the first tour from Brisbane to Sydney.

A week in New Orleans last week was a bit of a distraction. Training while away was ok, I was able to ride every day except one. However, my nutrition was awful and don’t talk to me about sleep, I just didn’t get any.

Back to normal this week and a solid training week behind me. Saturday’s solo 120+km with 1300m ascent in 4 hours proved I am on track. With 4 weeks of training to go I should be in good shape come tour time.

Fundraising has been a bit slow of late, lots of discussions but not much coming in. If you have been thinking about donating now is a great time. Some momentum going in to tour would certainly give my tally a boost.

At this stage I have $42,000 in committed funds and would really like to push on above $50,000, so any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

On return from New Orleans I learned that my colleague’s (Peter) recent chemo treatment knocked him about a bit and the news on his liver wasn’t particularly good either. We are hopeful that a new liver treatment will be available to him after some tests this week to check his compatibility.

So the key for the next week will be to get my nutrition back on track and to get some fund raising activity moving.

The next four weeks will disappear rapidly, and with another overseas trip before joining tour it will be crucial to get some good training in the legs.

Till next time.

Cheers, Woody
