Day 2 – Hastings Point to Grafton – 214km

A quick foot note to Day 1…

Each night on tour TDC donates $10,000 to a local cancer charity to fund research, support and prevention programs.

Last night the donation went to Oncology North Coast to supply clinical assessment equipment for a new cancer trials unit.

DAY 2 – Hastings Point to Grafton – 214km

Hastings Point to Grafton

Not surprisingly, the line at the Vittoria coffee van was longer than ever….

The start was alive with excitement, and the Sunrise crew in action.  The prospect of over 200km had a few feeling apprehensive.  I was thinking “this is just like another training ride Richo – you got this no problem!” (Again hoping I haven’t spoken too soon…)

Today was a mostly flat journey, however, it was the longest leg of the tour – 214km!

By 7am we’d already covered 50km, rolling into – Byron Bay. And even better, the sun came out just as we arrived! Despite the length of today’s leg, we couldn’t help ourselves. We had to ride up to the lighthouse for a few pics.

The afternoon went much quicker hugging some of Australia’s most spectacular coast line – beaches of Byron Bay, Lennox Heads and Ballina.

See below some of my pics from the day….
