Day 3 | Sale to Traralgon | 134km

This year, I was asked to be Captain of Team Westpac – an opportunity I took with great pride, given this is only my 2nd tour.

As a Captain, I had the opportunity to mentor and coach others to prepare – both physically & mentally before the ride.

A part of Team Westpac, Jodi Harris is a veteran TDC rider from Brisbane.  During last night’s dinner Jodi informed everyone that she was going to shave her head live on TV.  Everyone dug deep and she managed to raise $3,500!!!!

For those of you who watched Sunrise this morning – she did it!  Very proud of her! And I was honoured to hand over my Blue Jersey to her!

The morning started at the RAAF base which was pretty cool.  We had the opportunity to check out some of the fighter jets as well as ride down the runway in V formation.

After a fairly easy 60kms, we stopped at the picturesque Lake Glenmaggie for morning tea. Talk about serenity! It was hot and steamy as we set off to the beautiful Traralgon Vineyards.  The view from the estate was spectacular.

After a few dirt roads we arrived in Traralgon where we were greeted by our Stage riders – we have 6 extra people joining Team Westpac.

I certainly have been using the resources of the Support Crew – the Sports Therapists, Massage Therapists & Doctors – to name a few, have all been tending to my Day 1 wounds.  As well as my backside, I also have bruised fingers, arms & legs – not a pretty site!

Thank you to everyone who has donated over the past few days – very much appreciated!

Would also love to get your comments/messages, which you can leave below.
