Day 4 | Traralgon to Inverloch | 130km…well not quite!

Today started with lovely warm weather for a change.  Unfortunately, the day didn’t continue in such positive light….

A storm front came up from Tasmania and hit the riders, getting blasted by 40 knots of a South Westerly.  Have never ridden in such strong winds – it was a wonder anyone stayed upright.  Its ok everyone – I stayed on my bike today!!  The last of the riders arrived to lunch today two hours late.

For the first time in it’s ten year history the tour was stopped short with 30 kilometres to go.

A contingency plan was rolled out and we were bused or driven to Inverloch. Fifty bikes were able to be transported, but the other half had to remain behind.  Those that drew the short straw are being bused back to our bikes early in the morning to finish the remaining 30km, on top of the kilometres already scheduled for tomorrow.

A great school visit today….A lesson in growing your own veggies at Grey Street Primary School.
