Day 4 – What I am here for

Day 4: Bordertown to Horsham
Distance: 175km
Total Ascent: 361m

An amazing Day

Started the day with Sunrise and our team had the first presentation to the kids at Bordertown Primary School. It was nerve racking being in front of such a big school of Parents, teachers and kids but “We rocked” well the kids rocked in fact. They really got involved in the whole concept and many made amazing posters. The interaction was high class and we all enjoyed the morning teaching them the Be Fit, Be Healthy, Be Happy message of Yes we can!!!!

We all have the ability to do whatever we put our minds to. Life is short so if you really want to do something then stop and think of what is really stopping you? Maybe just excuses…… Maybe we need to stop and realise how much family and friends are important to us and tell them?

I was moved by the St Fances School much the same as St Mary’s School with a small group who sung an amazing song they made up for us the Tour de cure riders. It bought a tear to my eye. The interaction and story’s we shared was lovely and everyone enjoyed the time we had with every school.

IT was a tough day of riding with leaving late(after 9am) from the school visit and stopping into 2 other schools along the way. We pushed it though and the pace was fast. Our pelaton averaged 38km per hr on the last 70km track and still yet to see the stats on the first part of the ride which was also a quick pace. I am very much enjoying it and the family I have become a part of.

Today I rode beside many cool people including Mark Beretts for an entire stage. I sat on the outside and buffered the wind and I was glad once he offered to swap sides as he is a much better buffer then I. It was nice to see he too felt it as much as myself.Great guy as many others in the team!

Nice to arrive at a Mecure and tea, chores, blog and soon bed.

Big day tomorrow with a 220km ride and 3 schools to visit. Hoping for a great night sleep to be energised to share with the kids again.

Today was very emotional and I really miss home and family. I know everything comes to pass, so holding on to helping others and I know I will see them soon.
