Day 10 – final day on tour
Well it’s the last and final day on tour. I feel quite sad the journey is about to end. Early wake to get on the road for a 3pm arrival. It was the coldest ever! Colder than the top of the mountain yesterday! Started at 0 degrees and went to negative 6. Whoo everyone was freezing but not complaining at all with the temperature. I haven’t been so cold and frightened coming down those mountains in a group at 40-60km per hr. I felt it was the least I could go though to face fears and really nothing as apposed to those going through sickness and health issues. How do they do it. God must give them strength and courage as I know he gave me throughout the ride. It is an amazing feeling coming out the other side. I guess I feel honoured to be able to do something to help with education of our children prevention, and research. I think you all should be proud for supporting such a great cause. We have come a long way and I believe we have more to come. The day went fast even though I had legs that felt like lead after the climb yesterday. I made Queen of the mountain and beat the best female by 9 minutes. Amazed with the result. After dropping into a town fair for a quick lunch we were off to see our family’s and celebrate. It was a huge day and my body started to feel very tired and weary. It was great to come in and see everyone welcome us. Especially my family who have also made a huge sacrifice in this epic journey. After celebrating with dinner we where all glad to arrive to a bed for a sleep in.
