One more sleep

I am just ticking off my list and I want to do the most important  job of all Blog before I head off to Adelaide tomorrow. Then I will take you on tour with me.ONE more sleep till I fly out and three more sleeps   until we all meet together to ride and share the cancer awareness message and   raising money for a common cause. I think I am ready- Bags packed, house   cleaned, washing & ironing up to date, shopped(well maybe a couple of   essentials from our favourite IGA), kids cloths organised, routine set… Of   course my favourite in-house mechanic has my bike ready to go with new   shoes(for my birthday) and a new comfy seat from my the BEST parents! I have   enjoyed the ride and challenge looking forward to what is ahead.

I started to think about the journey that I am so   privileged to undertake and started to feel somewhat emotional and a little   teary. A goal to help make an impact on many lives with treatment, research   and sharing the cancer prevention message to our younger generation. The   4am-5am starts so I can have time in my day for family and my role as a   mother and employer….juggling many jobs to raise funds or slot extra things   into a day. Nothing really in my eyes as opposed to the life of a cancer   patient and family. They give me strength in the down times that are really   nothing to be down and out about. I am amazed that two out of three cancer   patients survive and this tally is getting smaller. They all go through tough   times in treatment and health. This is going to make a difference in their   lives.

I have just read a book in which I was graciously   given for breaking a board in half with my hand in front of our Ricoh Dealer   network!haha yeah it took me three attempts but I got it…Peter Quoted   “Muhammad Ali used to say all the work is done long before you step into the   ring and get to dance under those lights!” I have done the work, 500+km weeks   over the last several months and some 650km weeks. I was trying to work out   last night how far I would have ridden around Australia. Maybe would have   made some inroads if I kept going. I have made the 100% mark and still   climbing with my fundraising also.

Therefore I am ready and looking forward to another   challenge. I do feel nervous but I am human and nerves are good (so I am   told). It is all new to me, meeting the team, riders, supporters and others   we meet along the way. I will enjoy the ride of life and every moment through   it. Maybe not the cold weather and sore buttocks giggle giggle… I am not   looking forward to being away from my little one’s for this time either. But   as they say “you have to go out of your comfort zone to help others and grow as   a person.”

My tally is $14,500 but I am not finished. I have a   raffle to draw and a movie premier on the 15th May at the Bowen Cinema(Identity   Thief) . It will top my tally nicely. I really thank the generous people who   have given money or time. My sponsor – Byte-Wise IT Solutions/Ricoh, Then   Bowen Power Quip and Cycles, Toyworld, VeeJays’, Lian & Wayne Born, my   beautiful sister Simi Jacobs and all the other gracious people who donated   money to a great cause!! I couldn’t have done this challenge without you and   I am truly grateful. You generosity will impact many people, families and   children in the future. I am so blessed not only to have this experience but   to live in such an amazingly giving place on earth with awe-inspiring friends   and family. You GUYS ROCK!!

I couldn’t have done it without all those who have   helped me along the way. My family have made many sacrifices. My beautiful   babysitters and angels of friends and family who are always there for me.   Love you heaps xxxoo!! My favourite coach, Doctor, and Chiropractor, training   partners and who has kept me well and in training. Others selling raffle   tickets and Mark for looking after me in Adelaide before I leave. Also the   support I have received along the way.

I won’t forget you all, so I am taking you on tour   with me throughout my ride. I will keep you posted on the 1540km epic   journey. The lives we touch along the way to help cure cancer. The crazy   hills haha OK Snowy Mountains (I don’t want to think about them too much   haha)!!!

I am gracious for this opportunity and hope we touch   many lives. It doesn’t stop here and now will take you on tour with me. I   have the map attached so you can see where I am heading.

Love and Lots of Hugs and Kissed
