Day 8 start of the mountains
Well today was to be 180km with up to 2000+ in elevation. It was tough but easier than I anticipated. The concentration on wheels in front and keeping lines beside & infront is quite hard when you are tired. Especially in descents of 50-60km per hr.
We started with a school rock star visit but no autographs today haha. We had a big day ahead! Short stops after leaving late from the school. I can’t believe how cold it is! You just can’t warm up. The country side was amazing, picture perfect and just stunning. We are so blessed to live in such a beautiful country! Rolling hills with lots of colour, horses running beside us, running streams and even more…
I shared the lead for the first session before a quick smoko and then we hit some mountains. The day just went so fast and much easier than I anticipated. We had a chopper at the Start of the ride taking shots over the most amazing bridge. The ride to Kancoben involved a lot of hills – up & down, arrived late at near 6pm and it was very cold. Even colder than the last few days and in the negatives. Brrrr not fun, with rain expected for the morning.
Big day tomorrow with over 3000 meters in climbing! Bed usual time after 10 so slept like a log.
Had dinner with Mr & Mrs Beretta. Great day had by all !!!
