Week 19 of 24 Training and Fundraising Update

A relatively quite week this past 7 days, my last easy week before the Tour.

Training was a bit different this week after my training buddy Owen had an accident last Sunday. He has some bad bruising on his hip and shoulder which has hampered his training this week.

As a result I have done more riding by myself than normal which has been a real mental test. The rain yesterday morning also caused havoc with my tyres and spare tubes. A three hour road ride turned into 30 minutes with the rest being done on the trainer and rollers when I ran out of spare tubes after 15 minutes of riding.

After today’s 140km the total for the week was 392km including some recovery rides which have the legs primed for the next few solid weeks. Just need to work on getting some more sleep which hasn’t been easy of late.

Lots of planning last week for a big fundraising activity on Wednesday at work, otherwise a fairly quite week for my tally. I am just shy of $31,000 in total and hope to add a few thousand to this number this week, fingers crossed.

Less than 5 weeks to go, it’s getting so close.

Cheers

Woody
