Day Three struggled today

Well haven’t spoken to my little ones yet and very much missing them. It’s tough when you are going through mental thoughts when your body is pushed to the limits. Big day! I know my ride is nothing of a roller coaster ride people and families have to deal with everyday with cancer.

Left in the heavy fog and spent a lot of the morning in single file for safety on a busy highway. It is exhausting just concentrating on the wheel in front breaking, slowing and speeding up to keep the pack in line and calling for any items that may cause damage to any of the riders I the paths. I may not have fuelled correctly or hydrated right as I just dropped energy and legs 25km from lunch. My heavy legs today could have been from pushing it on a big climb yesterday & not recovering. We had a lovely meal last night but not sure I ate enough. All these things are imperative in the ride. Also two nights in a row 6 hrs sleeps doesn’t help. So tonight after I post this am going to get my recovery.

Recovered after lunch and joined the back of the peloton with Phil and the Beretta boys. Skinny name we call them both. It was fun and there were many sledging sessions to me included. So even though we all had a tough day, we made it fun & that is what life is all about. Taking opportunities and embarrassing them to get you through. We all rode the 10km hill climb together today. Ride 180km with approx 2000 Meters climbing. It was tough but I was given strength to get through it. As a team we all help each other get through the tough times. Everyone has them at some time through the ride.

This reminds me of life. I have amazing community, friends and family that help each other throughout life to get through the tough times and also celebrate the good ones too. We have all been through both at some stage and makes us appreciate what we have.
