Packing Ready to go!

Less than 2 weeks until we clip into our peddles and head off on another Epic tour. I can’t believe it has been over a year now since the last one. This is the hardest time now a month out. You don’t have time to do anything really just squeezing what you can get in. I am really sorry for the delay in updates but as you can imagine I have been trying to raise money, work, Train (sometimes at 4am in the morning so I can have time with the family and kids), Study, and wear all the other hats I tend to fill in my weeks. So if you are my friend and you haven’t seen me for a while it’s not because I don’t love you more that I have been a bit time poor.

I love it though, I love teaching the kids and adults alike to “Be fit, Be Happy and Be Healthy!” Happiness is the key in life and helping others is something that makes me happy. WHY I WANT TO CURE CANCER- Life is about giving to others. I love life and people and don’t ever want anyone to go through the pain and suffering of cancer. It is destroying families. I know what it is like to lose a child and never want anyone to have to go through losing precious people in their lives. I want to do something about it and our Tour De Cure family is making a difference from educating our young children to providing money for breakthrough research projects as well as supporting and educating cancer sufferers.

I too want to live in a cancer free world. My friends know me as wanting to save the world but I haven’t found a magic wand that works so feel I can do this to make a difference in the lives of others.

So many many km I have clocked on my bike.  Just over $12,000 is my tally and I am psyching myself up to little my little gems for 2 weeks. No cuddles and kisses and “I love you’s” I am surely going to miss my kids. I hope I am setting an example for them to make the world a better place too one day. Packing and shopping so there is food and items here for them to get by…….

My lovely friends Judy and Jackie are running the last fundraiser without me this time having to work in Brisbane for the weekend. I couldn’t do it without them and the Rollacoaster Committee – Kris, Nan, Therese, Russ and Owen of course.

Well I am just about to pack my bags ready for the cold weather which is hard to believe after having up to 30 degree days of late. Then get my work forward payments complete and up to date. Then a few tears Friday when I have to say goodbyes to my loved one’s….. Before I know it I will be back to Beautiful Bowen and back into work again so I am going to make the most of the time I am sure. I will keep you updated and posted along the way I promise. . I will be sending updates to you on how we are progressing over the 10 days including the enjoyment (ha) I am having while riding 1540km’s over 10 days from Adelaide to Melbourne.

It will test me to my limits, both physically and emotionally, but it will be nothing compared to the many people who suffer with cancer. I have committed to raise $12,000 to be part of the squad and would really appreciate your support in helping me reach this target. I am really fortunate to be selected to take part in this inspiring event and will do what I can to serve my role and represent Bowen and our amazing people. While asking for donations does not come easy to me, I really believe in the Tour de Cure’s goal to “not only raise money to find a cure for cancer, but also to raise community awareness”. Once again thank you for your support. You are helping make a difference in our fight against cancer.

I appreciate your support as I fundraise for a cure for cancer!

Love you all xx
