I do it every year, vow to reform my ways after Tour has finished but then fall off the wagon ! Leading up to Tour each year we do a lot of training, its nothing to use thousands of calories on a long ride so that means that you can virtually eat what you like and still lose weight from around your middle. But …………………… when Tour is over I …Read more
Well the training has started !! I have just got back from holidays and looking forward to starting the training that will get me ready for the 2014 Tour de Cure. Normally I would ease myself into it by doing a month of medium range rides to bed the bum in and get the legs turning but this year the Tour de Cure is a lot earlier. Normally we start …Read more
Great news, I just got the news that I have been accepted into the 2014 Tour de Cure riding from Sydney to Hobart. The route should be a great one making its way from Sydney inland to Melbourne and then down the East coast to Hobart ! I am so happy to be included for my 5th Tour, its a real privilege and exciting time.
Its nearly over ………… the hiatus that I have over winter where I don’t ride, sleep in and get really fat by eating lots of great deserts and drinking too much wine is coming to an end !! Its not all about not wanting to get up when its cold, although that’s a really good reason not to go for a ride but its all about getting back in the …Read more

Day 7 already, it seems like we had just left Adelaide and now we are on the homeward stretch with only a couple of climbing days to go before we arrive in Canberra. This morning was cold, damn cold. I think the temperature before the sun came up was about 4 degrees! I spoke to a couple of locals at the channel 7 cross and they all said that this was the coldest …Read more
Today was always going to be a tough day to get through as it was after 3 rather long days on the bike. The day after a 220km day yesterday the legs were a bit stiff this morning but a few stretch’s helped to get me going. As I exited the accommodation this morning it was evident that it was going to be a cold morning, I think that it was about …Read more
